Grace Siobhan Schlueter

2018 Parade Princess

The Village Preservation Association is pleased to announce that Grace Siobhan Schlueter has been selected as Parade Princess for the 2018 Plainfield Hometown Irish Parade.

Grace Siobhan Schlueter is honored to have been selected as this year’s Hometown Irish Parade Princess. Her Irish roots come from her mother’s side — reaching to County Kerry and Galway — home to her grandfather and great grandmother, respectively.

She enjoys sharing her heritage through Irish dancing and has trained with the Keigher Academy of Dance (Minooka) for seven years. She has been successful at competitions, but it is March she looks forward to. With St. Patrick’s Day celebrations all month long, she gets the opportunity to put her dancing talents on display for her friends, family and community at nursing homes, restaurants, and church events.

Grace is a sophomore at Plainfield North High School where she’s on the honor roll and is a member of the American Sign Language club. When she takes off her dancing shoes, she trades them for soccer cleats. Grace grew up in the PSA soccer organization and is proud to now be a member of the PNHS Girls JV soccer team.

An active member of the Plainfield community, Grace is a member of the Juniorettes (part of the Plainfield Junior Women’s Club) as well as a member of BSA Venturing Crew 19 out of St. Mary Immaculate Church.

Grace thanks the Committee for selecting her to be part of the 2018 Hometown Irish Parade and allowing her to share her dedication to the community and pride in her heritage.
